COACHING
Ree-Discover
"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity"
- World Health Organisation
What is a Health Coach?
“A Health Coach provides clarity, they provide inspiration, but most importantly, they walk alongside someone to help with behaviour change – long-term, sustainable behaviour change”.
As a Certified Health Coach, I am part of a Community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about the idea that Prevention is Cure. As early adopters of a new way of providing health and wellbeing services, we spend a lot of time educating others about what a Health Coach is, and what we can do to help others.
“Health & Wellness coaching is a Science and an Art form, not just a process. Fundamentally, Health & Wellness coaching encompasses the sciences of positive psychology, behaviour change, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle medicine with the dynamic art of relationships, teamwork and community, as well as Coaching techniques”
(HCANZA – Health Coaches Australia and New Zealand Association)
One on one Coaching sessions
I am passionate about empowering my clients to recognise the signs & symptoms of dis-ease and imbalance in the body and the mind early. Then journey alongside them as they discover strategies they can implement immediately and easily in order to thrive.
Our Health Coaching sessions can be online, over the phone or in person (as able). We can connect weekly, fortnightly or monthly – and together we will design a program that works best for you.
As a Certified Health Coach, the pillars of Wellbeing that I can help you with are:
- Nutrition
- Sleep
- Movement
- Connection
- Breathing
- Gratitude
- Mindfulness
Research shows that by taking small, repeatable steps and actions to strengthen each of these pillars, we can enhance & extend not just our lifespan, but also our Healthspan (the part of a person’s life where they are generally in good health).
Your Health Coaching sessions are based on ‘Te Whare Tapa Wha’ – the Maori model of Wellbeing developed by Sir Mason Durie.
Te Whare Tapa Wha outlines the core components of Health & Wellbeing that contribute to our ability to really thrive in life. These are our mental & emotional wellbeing, our family & social connections, our physical wellbeing, and our spiritual wellbeing or sense of purpose. The 4 ‘walls’ of the Whare are strengthened by our connection to the land and our place of belonging.
